All of you have been listening to the podcast over the years know how much I enjoy speaking with families to go out and take on outdoor adventures together. Today I have with me a father and his beautiful three daughters who took on the Catskill 35 challenge.

For those of you who don't live in New York or in a northeast,

that's quite a challenge for any of us.

I did it in my 50s and I got to tell you some of those peaks say they were tough. I want to welcome with us

I want to start off by congratulating to three of you.

That is amazing what you did.

We're now fellow, we're all in the same club by the way.

Okay, we're all 35ers. We're members of that club, so that's great.

I always like to see new members in there.

So Jason, tell us a little bit about yourself, though, before we get started here about the hikes up in the Catskills.

Well, like you said, I'm Jay Pelton.

I grew up in Altamont and the Helderberg's.

Spend a lot of time in the woods as a kid. I used to Bushwhack to the Thatcher Park a lot from my dad's house.

It was like about a three mile round trip bushwhack.

But as a kid I spent, you know, living in a mountain I didn't have friends close by, you know,

very remote, so spent most of my time in the woods,

bushwhacking and just being in nature and I think that's, you know, how it stuck with me growing up and just loving out the outdoors and then hiking trails, you know, I moved up north for quite a while like

Skylerville area and I used to hike you, not around acts from up there and, but we moved here, you know, I got married.

I was 40. My wife is from Warsaw, Poland.
