Hello and welcome to Storytime for grownups. I'm Faith Moore, and this is Summer Session.

During season one, we read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. From now until September, we'll be

exploring Jane Eyre in once-a-week episodes, which will drop on Mondays, sort of like a college

class, only fun. If this doesn't sound like your thing,

don't worry. Storytime will be back with a new book in September. But for now,

brew a pot of tea, find a cozy chair, and settle in. Class is in session. Okay, now it feels like summer, at least where I am. I don't know about where you are.

Maybe it's felt like summer for a long time where you are. Maybe it still doesn't quite feel like summer yet. But here, where I am, we are having an

actual heat wave. It's like 90 degrees and like 100% humidity or something like that. For me,

anyway, it now really feels like summer. And so I am very excited still, as always always to be here with you in these summer sessions.

This is story time for grownups. It's a podcast where we read classic literature chapter by chapter

with a few notes along the way in an effort to make these books more accessible to us and help us

to read these books that we've always wanted to read but were maybe too intimidated or we

tried and didn't

understand them. Here, we are going to understand them. We just finished Jane Eyre, and in September,

we will be starting a new book as yet to be disclosed, but for now we are in summer session,

and we are discussing Jane Eyre, kind of like a college class on the book, only fun.

And so welcome. I'm so glad that you are all here. If this is your first time finding the show,

I'm thrilled that you found it. Welcome. If you already are very familiar with Jane Eyre

and you want to stick around for this class that we're doing over the summer,

stick around.
