Hello and welcome to Storytime for grownups. I'm Faith Moore, and this is Summer Session.

During season one, we read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. From now until September, we'll be

exploring Jane Eyre in once-a-week episodes, which will drop on Mondays, sort of like a college

class, only fun. If this doesn't sound like your thing,

don't worry. Storytime will be back with a new book in September. But for now,

brew a pot of tea, find a cozy chair, and settle in. Class to summer session. I hope it feels like summer, wherever you are. It doesn't really feel like summer where I am.

It's a little bit warm, but we've had the rainiest spring ever. So, and it's kind of cold.

But that's okay. It is summer here at Storytime for grownups. I have declared it.

This is Summer Session, episode one. This is an episode called our books meant to be analyzed so we're going

to have a broad conversation today about what it means to analyze books because i know that for some of us

that is a scary concept and it might make you want to turn this episode off or not tune in for

summer session, but I really hope that you don't, that you stick around. Before I get into

any of that, I just want to take a moment to thank you for being part of season one, a story

time for grownups. I really wasn't sure if I should start this podcast.

It seemed like a sort of weird idea, and I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in either

an audiobook with notes or what I specifically had to say about it. But it has been such a joy.

I had no idea how much I would love doing this. And I had no idea

how many of you would come along for the ride and reach out to me and share your thoughts with me and

your stories. And I truly am so honored to have been able to share this experience with you.

And I do not take lightly the fact that you trusted me to be the bearer of this

story, right, that many of you had never read it before and had no idea what to expect, and you

came along with me. And others of you knew and really loved it already and trusted me not to
