So I've been talking about discipleship.

I started talking from Lutheran, from Matthew chapter 28, verses 19 and 20, that the Lord gave

us a command to go and make disciples, not converts. And it's one of the worst decisions that has

ever been made in the body of Christ where we put the importance on getting people born again,

but not becoming a disciple. He told us to go make disciples,

teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always,

even under the end of the world. And teaching a person, all things that Jesus commanded us,

is just as important as telling them about their initial salvation.

Those are radical statements, but that is absolutely true. And I also use John chapter 8,

where it talked about to the people who believed on him. If you continue in my word,

then are you my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth

and the truth shall make you free. He was talking to believers. And he says, you aren't a

disciple until you continue in the word. Being a believer does not make you a disciple. You have to

continue in the word until you know it. And that's talking about experience it. It becomes a living reality to

you and then you'll be made free. The product of a disciple is that you're free. If you aren't free,

you aren't a disciple. And I'm not saying that to criticize anybody or to say anything bad about you.

I'm saying that we have stopped short of what God intended.

And somewhere down the line, the church has says it's okay to just get born again.

That's what's important. Get saved and stuck and sing about when we all get to heaven. What a day
