joined again by Leslie Halleck returning guest, a professional horticulturist

author of Gardening Under Lights and then the new book that's coming out and that's kind of what we're talking about this week is called plant parenting easy ways to make more house plants, vegetables and flowers. So we've talked about different types of cuttings

that we can take.

And now we're going to zoom in on a specific category of plants,

and it's one that probably all of you really love I know I certainly do

although I will be honest I do not pay as much attention to my succulents as

other things especially in spring but that's what we're talking about today

cuttings how do we actually increase our success rate so Leslie I figured I would

kind of just let you run with this I know that there's certainly some best

practices and some mistakes people make so

maybe we could start out there. Well the reason you're able to neglect your

succulents right is because they're

more moisture for longer periods of time and require you know drier conditions or more time

between watering right for them to survive and thrive so they're they're a good category to neglect as long as you're

getting enough light for your succulents. So they also have evolved in

conditions that can be quite extreme, right?

So succulents have developed some really cool ways of multiplying themselves,

right, in very quickly, right, and very easily.

And a lot of people who have first contact, if you will,
