so it is like like botanist yeah exactly well my pronunciation is not epic but

Leslie's books are so she is the author of Gardening

under Lights it's one of my favorite gardening books especially being an indoor

gardener and an outdoor gardener and starting my seeds indoors etc But her new books called Plant Parenting,

Easy ways to make more house plants, vegetables, and flowers.

So yesterday we talked about rooting hormones,

and I think we cleared up almost all the questions that many

beginners will have now we're going into an entirely different and also equally

complex topic perhaps even more so and that would be the different types of stem and leaf

cuttings that you can make and actually as a semi-beginner propagator I

certainly do some cloning and I certainly do some dividing etc but I wouldn't be the person to ask for all

the technical terms Leslie so do you mind just giving us a breakdown of

these different stem and leaf cuttings that we can be taking from our plants?

Well there's a whole bunch and in plant parenting I go through all the different types of

vegetative cuttings.

So sort of three top level overall categories and we're talking about

taking vegetative cuttings and when I say vegetative cuttings that means we're

not starting the plant from seed. We are going to essentially clone this

plant by removing a piece of tissue from the existing plant and rooting it if that

plant can be propagated that way, right?
