December 24th. What happened with American Airlines this morning?

The airline says it's boarding flights again, after a technical issue forced them to briefly

ground all planes. The snafu plunged some travel plans across the country into chaos on

Christmas Eve, but not all. Only 19 American Airlines flights have been cancelled out of the

almost 4,000 scheduled. But the airline has faced a significant number of delays made worse by bad

weather. Only 30% of Americans' flights left on time today, as of this afternoon. But 93% of their

flights had a two-hour delay at most.

This is all according to data from an aviation analytics firm.

The airline said this morning that customers who experience delays should be on their way with minimal disruption.
