Did you ever get the feeling that the net is tightening around you?

That what you thought you could do yesterday, you might be told you can't do tomorrow.

There is a growing feeling of foreboding in the air this morning as the gloom descends on the

capital and the Tower of London disappears in the mist before my very eyes. I can't even see it at all now.

When I wrote this about five minutes ago, I could still see the top of it.

It's gone completely now. Stern warnings are being emanated from all quarters of the government today. Home Secretary Pretty Patel yesterday threatened everyone that she'd set the police on them

if they didn't obey the rules. Even as Derbyshire police apologize to the two reservoir coffee

drinkers and withdrew their penalty notices.

Matt Hancock reckoned it's a great idea to offload hospital patients into hotels and care homes

to make more space for more empty beds.

But hang on a minute, I thought we didn't have enough staff to look after people in hospitals

outside of the NHS, generally speaking, because the nightingale hospitals have been pretty much mothballed. Politicians in Liverpool are alarmed at the sharp increase of cases in the

northwest amid more claims than we haven't even hit the peak of the second wave yet. And meanwhile,

no one can do anything. Most people aren't working and businesses can't make any money. Where is
