Our text today comes from the 17th chapter of the book of Genesis, verse 15 through verse 19, reading from the New Living Translation.

You'll there find these words.

Then God said to Abraham regarding Sarai, your wife, her name will no longer be Sarai.

From now on her name will be Sarah.

And I will bless her and give you a son from her.

Yes, I will bless her richly and she will become the mother of many nations.

Kings of nations will be among her descendants.

Then Abraham bowed down to the ground, but he laughed to himself in disbelief.

How could I become a father at the age of a hundred, he thought? And how can Sarah have a baby when

she's 90 years old? So Abraham said to God, may Ishmael live under your special blessing.

But God said, no, Sarah, your wife, will give birth to a son for you. And you will name him Isaac. And I will confirm my covenant with him and his descendants as an everlasting covenant.

Today I'm talking from the subject of the power of the bridge.

The power of the bridge. Why the power of the bridge? Because Isaac was a bridge. He was a bridge between two generations. He was a bridge between a prophetic promise and the divine fulfillment.

And let me just tell you this. In front of every prophetic promise, there is always a problem.

It's like a sea of trouble. And so you need a bridge to get you over the troubled waters

His the prophetic promise was you're going to be the father of many nations

But here's the problem he was old he was 99 when he got that message his wife was. And so it would have not have even seemed to be impossible if he were 99 and she were 28.

But she was 89 and he was 99. And God says, you're going to be the father of many nations and he hadn't had one child of

promise yet and he says well maybe what God is is going to do maybe he's going to do it through that

wild child that I had 12 years ago Ishmael he had already birthed the child in the flesh

trying to fulfill the will of God in the flesh instead of by the arm of the spirit.

And so he said, no, no, no. He says, your wife, Sarah is going to be the mother of this one.
