Summary

Ep. 157 - Enjoy this important replay. Christian women are notorious for giving "feel good" encouragement. It might not be true. It might not be biblical. But, it makes us feel good in the moment.

"You're enough."
"Your turn is next!"
"You'll get that baby soon."
"Marriage is in your future."
"Good things are coming your way."

These all sound nice and great and make me feel good... but are they true? Are they biblical?

In today's episode, we're unpacking why this "fluffy feel good" advice is more damaging than helpful.

0:09.3

that we've heard and things that we have probably said because it sounds good it feels good and it

gives temporary hope but at the end of the day I think a lot of these ideas are

borrowed from our secular society and they do sound encouraging but they're not

actually rooted in God's word and so what's

0:23.6

happening is it's giving women false hope we're finding hope in our circumstances

0:28.0

rather than hope in God's word so today we're gonna unpack what some of those most

popular pieces of advice are that

0:34.1

aren't biblical and then dig into how we can truly encourage one another as Sisters in

Christ with hope from the word.

What's up Sister Hood? It is Bethany and Kristen. And yes we are sisters. We get that

0:51.4

this is a topic that I'm really excited about

0:54.1

just because until somebody pointed out to me some things that I was saying like I

0:59.2

didn't even realize that I was giving advice and offering like this false hope to other women and

1:04.5

actually kind of doing more harm than good and I I don't want to do that and I

1:09.2

know many of you don't want to do that either so we're going to bring to light

1:12.1

a few of the things that we've

1:13.2

learned over the years that are kind of like easy traps to fall into. But if you are new here, first
