0:58.0 | So I was teaching a group of people about meditation and mindfulness the other day. |
1:02.0 | And one of the questions from the virtual audience was, why meditate? What's the point? |
1:08.0 | Firstly, I loved the directness of the question. They just got straight to the point. |
1:14.0 | But secondly, this is a really great question to ask. Really, why should we meditate? |
1:20.0 | Of all the things in the world that could help, why this? |
1:24.0 | Here is my answer to that question. |
1:26.0 | But I'm going to start with a few questions myself and I base all of this on my own experiences. |
1:34.0 | Do you experience a very busy mind a lot of the time? |
1:38.0 | Do you often find you feel stressed and worried about things that might happen? |
1:44.0 | Do you find it takes you a while to switch off at night? |
1:48.0 | When was the last time you stopped and did nothing and brought your attention into the present moment? |
1:55.0 | Of course, we can't have an actual conversation here, but maybe just consider your answers to those questions I asked. |
2:03.0 | And my point in asking them is that we live in a very busy, distracting and yes, sometimes very stressful and challenging world. |
