Welcome to another show. I'm John Fuller, joined by Dr. Greg Smalley and his wife, Aaron.

and the conversation began addressing broken families and why so many young people today

are afraid of getting married. Let me ask you this last question. And Sean, I'll point it to you,

but also, Lynette, I want your opinion as a woman. You look at, and Sean, I'll point it to you, but also, Lynette, I want your opinion as a woman.

You look at, and so often, you know, we're looking at stats in the African American community,

the breakdown of family, fatherlessness.

But the truth of the matter is all of the train cars are hooked together.

We're all moving in that direction of

fatherless homes, not just the black family, white family, Hispanic, now Asian families too,

which traditionally have been kind of the strongest intact unit. So we seem to all be being

pulled in this direction of the breakdown of the family. From your perspective,

both from a husband and father, and then for you as a mother and a wife, I mean, how do we

arrest this? How do we break the shackles of that bondage and recognize, you know, today,

everybody's saying, well, today, every single, well,

two-parent family, well, that's a privilege. No, it's not. This is a commandment. Right.

It's not a privilege to be married. It's the way we should do this. Yeah. I have so many thoughts on this.

Okay, good. I like that idea. So I 100% will speak from a perspective of husband, father, and as an African-American.

So it is heartbreaking when we look at the statistics and the breakdown of the family and marriage as a whole within our community.

So we did our vow renewal September 5th this year for that very reason.
