And despite my little attempt at levity,

there's some serious political implications here and First Amendment

implications as well. So unless you've been living under Iraq, you probably know that Stephen

Colbert, who's scheduled to go off here in May, is in a major league feud with his network, which, as he tells it, and he went into this in great detail,

refused to allow him to air an interview he had already taped with a guy named James Tala Rico,

a Texas state rep running now as a Democrat for Congress.

By the way, this is the best thing that ever happened to tell Rico,

because no one had heard of him before, and now he's making the rounds.

So it was a political gift.
