But I want to tie up a loose end involving the spat, feud, showdown between Stephen Colbert and CBS.

Brendan Carr, the FCC chairman, rather than, you know, lying low during this controversy,

held a press conference yesterday.

He told reporters it was a hoax that his agency had anything to do with CBS ordering its biggest star not to air the interview with

Texas Democratic candidate James Tolarico.

By the way, he's now making the rounds accusing the FCC.

This is just false.

I'm having ordered this to happen.

What happened was that, you know, Carr said that late night shows might have to lose their

exemption from the equal time rules.

It all depends on your definition of partisanship.

Anyway, Carr, at this presser said this is a perfect encapsulation of why the American

people have more trust in gas station sushi than they do

in the national news media. Pretty good lie. I think you guys should feel a bit of shame for having

been lied to and then just run with those lies. I think it's an embarrassing episode for the media.

Well, this seems to be, you know, Carr floats the idea that the FCC might take a look at this or might take a look at that.

He confirmed, after the same James Talleyico was on The View that he's looking into The View.

You know, it's sort of like what is the definition of a news show.
