My personal history I grew up in the city I'm 56 when my when I was 10 I asked my dad if he would let me come with him on the

March against the Vietnam War. So it's been 45 years of resistance for me. My personal commitment to engage social practice started in the

80s around the time I went to college Reagan was elected

and that brought about a shift to the right as we're going through now. At the time, it started out first being part of the divestiture

from South Africa, apartheid movement. And then I wound up protesting in conjunction with

Cispus which is a group that in the 80s was protesting Reagan's funding of

death squads in El Salvador and also against his funding of the contras which were engaged in an illegal campaign against the Sandinista government in Nicaragua.

Reagan's bombing of Libya, and then when Bush came into office, the war Panama, which was insane, protesting that, and then the Gulf War of 91,

been 45 years.

And then to bring it up to date, then there was Zuccotti and Occupy and Black Lives Matter that bring us up to now

protests against Trump's ban on refugees from primarily Muslim countries targeting Muslims.

It's partially Trump's vile policies and his authoritarian tactics, presidential decrees that are at best quasi-legal and

often completely legal.

And it's partially the fact that he is brought into power a conglomeration of vile, cutthroat, dreamly

far right wing people like Rex Tillerson, the head of Exxon, who was largely responsible for the creation

and disbursement of fake climate denying Science, the overt racist Jeff Sessions who was nominated for Justice

Department.

Steve Ben and the winner, a hate monger and publisher Bright Bart all these people had just listed except

for sessions worked at Goldman Sachs and I didn't leave in things like the

complete breakdown of our relationship with Mexico.

Throw all of that to the side, everything if you can possibly.

And then what you have is a president who's essentially gaslighting an entire country. Do you know what
