If you want to stay cool while walking in the summer, don't do what we did in Las Vegas last year.

Hi, I'm Dave. I've been walking for fitness since 2013, averaging just about 21,000 steps a day.

It is a cloudy day in South Carolina. I don't see any any blue sky above me. Temperatures are comfortable,

although it is going to get rather warm later this afternoon. And the forecast is for, I think,

a mix of cloud sun with the possibility of some thunderstorms thrown in as well. So here we are,

day two of summer. If you want an explanation as to why I believe June 2nd is the second day

of summer, listen to yesterday's podcast. Obviously, the temperatures are getting warm, perhaps even hot where you are.

And even if you are a fan of summer, as I am, you still want to stay as cool as you can

while you're walking.

Now, I enjoy the heat.

I enjoy the humidity.

But at some point, if I'm outside,

I don't want to be overheated.

I don't want to be super sweaty because that's going to impact not only how much I enjoy walking,

but even the effectiveness of my walk.

Last year, our first summer here in Myrtle Beach, by mid to late August, I was actually done with summer.

Surprised myself. And I found that my energy level was really being impacted by the heat and humidity.

And so this year, I'm pacing myself.

Even if you love the summer, you want to stay cool while you're walking.
