Two wars in Eurasia.

These two wars are one too many, maybe two too many,

but right now we start with Ukraine.

That war threatens to undo NATO and the defenses of the West

from depredations for 70, 80 years.

Summarizing, speaking at a security forum in Beijing,

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygos said Russia was ready for talks

on the Ukraine crisis and coexistence with the West.

Also, he accused the West, that would be the United States and its allies,

of using Ukraine to inflict strategic defeat on Russia

after Moscow tried to block NATO's Eastward expansion.

Mary, this is an offer for talks which is not a negative,

but at the same time it repeats the accusation made by Mr. Putin

in the winter spring of 22 that Russia's defending itself,

it was attacked.

Your measure right now of Ukraine,

one way of understanding it is that it's a frozen conflict.

Both sides are winterizing for the long haul to springtime.
