We're going to round the world, we're going to start globally.

Global stocks slide as investors fret over US slowdown.

It's a headline out of London watching the markets begin September with a sell-off,

having arisen dramatically these last weeks

and for seven of the stocks having

having risen amazingly for the whole year.

But now, Mary, a very good evening issue global

concerns about a US slowdown one way to talk about that is that the US is

hesitating over interest rates and over the jobs number that's

coming this week.

Another way to look at it is that there's a global slowdown in addition to the US and that's

in China. So first your thoughts about the markets in America.

Do they, to your mind, have an effect on foreign policy on the State Department?

Were you connected to what the stock market was doing

when you were dealing with foreign allies or adversaries?
