All right, so today we're gonna have a 20 minute podcast just talking about the starting

strength novice linear progression and it should be said that if you're not familiar with

the program, if you just simply Google that, you're going to get a ton of results, although not all of them have been vetted.

In fact, if you go and search around long enough, you'll actually find weird things like a

five by five program or a program that looks more like like Texas method than starting strength so just

for everyone being on the same level what is the starting strength novice linear

progression? It's a basic barbell program designed for general strength trainees not focused on specifically on competitive power lifting which is sometimes a misconception about the program.

Basically, it's a it's an A type program. You train three days a week. You squat every session, three sets, five reps. You alternate upper body lifts, the bench press and the overhead press for three sets, five reps each,

and then you'll deadlift afterwards for a set of five.

And the idea is that in the novice phase of training, when you're able to adapt quickly, it is a phase
