Morning everybody, welcome along to your free podcast, Thursday the 2nd of July. Do you know, I've done

nothing but sit in front of the computer for two days. Actually, that's a liar. I sat in front of it for

15 minutes the other day, but it seems like a lifetime. You know we've got to do invoices and things

like that. And I was sort of, I was, I was reminiscing, strangely enough, about all the years that I'd been at LBC, thinking to myself, if my life had gone

in a different direction years ago and I'd ended up where I thought I was going to end up, I don't

think I'd be working today. I think it's very much, not necessarily a young person's business,

but it's far more disposable now because you're as good as your last set of audience figures.

And if you get sort of two, as they call it, in this business, bad ray jars,

they're going to be looking at changing you because radio stations now thrive on advertising.

And you need the advertising and to get the advertisers, you need good audience figures.

And luckily, we've been fairly consistent over the years so that's a good thing we never actually dip all we

do is what we might level out a little bit for one for one set of figures and

the next time around it goes up again and so and there's no accounting for

for why you do things because you don't change the program you carry on doing

exactly the same as you did

before. Not that you've got any strange belief. I've read the presenters have gone, oh, I had a belief in what I was doing.

Oh, go away and grow up for God's sake. You're just doing a radio program. It's like fish and chip

newspaper. You know, you have your fish and chips. You just just throw it away it's all disposable it's all disposable but then

after you've been here for sort of a certain number of years and i think it has to be a certain number of

years and lbc's got a sort of a reputation now of keeping presenters for a long time because you

build an audience you know your audience goes with you so if all of a sudden i changed my my times

my audience would follow me.
