Well, good morning, everybody. I'm Father Chris here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy and welcome. We're glad with the weather forecast and the horrible weather coming. I didn't think we'd have anybody, but we got some people here today, so it's beautiful that you could join us. I would like to let you guys know that this is a special opportunity for us to really see the life of a saint,

0:22.9

St. Damien of Molokai. And if you could see from the cover slide that we had, this is a haunting

0:29.2

picture of a man, the bravest, incredible story. But we're also going to be talking about

Mary Ann Cope, Saint Mary Ann Cope, so stay with us because this one. And what's unique about this is this is one of the first symposiums I ever did back in 2017. And they flew me out to Hawaii. And so I was there at all of this.

Why are we doing this today?

1:15.4

Because yesterday was the Feast of St. Mary Ann Cope.

1:20.2

And it's also, it's interesting.

1:23.8

I got my blood clots that really came within a whisper of taking my life because they went up into my lungs for pulmonary embolisms.

1:33.3

And they said, the grace of God, it was a sliver where they were positioned in my lungs that I didn't die.

1:42.3

And I got those from my trip to Hawaii because I

1:46.5

was on a plane for 10 hours and never got out of the seat and formed blood clots in my legs,

1:53.4

deep vein thrombosis, it went up into the lungs, became these embolisms. So it's very interesting

2:00.1

because on the same date that I was out there,

2:03.8

I'd just been informed by my doctor, that I have to cut 80% of my travel. And so this is very,

2:11.9

very disappointing to me. Some travel I cannot cut, like provincial stuff going to Rome. So it's going to be very hard so I have to cut 80% of my travel so what that means is I'll be here more at being able to speak with you.

2:27.4

Thank the good Lord for the live stream. So let us begin with a prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

2:36.2

Amen.
