Summary

Every Sunday at Mass we pray the Nicene Creed. But do we "pray" it or do we only "say" it? Join Fr. Chris Alar as he explains the meaning of what we profess in our faith by looking at each sentence. For example, why doesn't the Creed mention Jesus descent into Hell but the Apostles' Creed does? When we profess that we believe in "one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church" do we mean the Roman Catholic Church? Actually not. This and many other insights await you in this video.

What does it mean God from God, light from light, true God from true God.

0:55.1

What is, what are we saying? So not only that we can pray it, but we can understand it,

1:00.7

and then therefore love it and love our faith. So this is our journey today. It's really cold out,

1:08.0

so I'm wearing a sweatshirt. And right now we're filming this ahead of time

1:12.6

so that we can show it to you on our Saturday

1:15.3

explaining the faith series.

1:17.3

So let us begin with a prayer in the name of the Father

1:20.2

and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

1:23.2

Amen, Heavenly Father.

1:24.3

We give you thanks and all glory for the gift of our faith,

1:28.6

the gift of your son that gave us, and the gift of the Holy Spirit that gave us

1:34.2

the ability to worship you and to know how to worship you and what to believe.

1:40.7

All of this is given to us in the tenet of our faith, as we have read and presented
