Now my true reign of terror begins.

It's not always supposed to be easy,

but just because you have to sweat doesn't mean that it's difficult.

Like, we've known this for a long time,

that the thing that there is a natural justice and a human justice

in having to mix your labor and the sweat of your brow with the world.

But this is a fight that's going on also within American churches

around the country in part because social justice

often kind of cloaks itself in this.

Christianese, you can get very sort of seductive attempts

to turn Christian social theory and charity

and care for the least, concern for the least.

People who genuinely have a heart for that are, in some cases,

if they're not super read up on this stuff,

are very susceptible to arguments that, well,

the least among us are those targeted by systemic racism.

And really what the church should be doing

is caring for disabled black trans women and so on and so forth.

And none of that is, of course, to say

that the church's care for every human being

has made any image of God doesn't apply to black trans women.

But this is a wedge that is being used in a lot of churches
