This is the LawFair podcast special edition May 29th 2019.

So we're here together on a Wednesday afternoon, a few hours after a special counsel Robert

Mueller or now former special counsel Robert Mueller delivered a surprise press conference

this morning announcing the formal closing of the special counsel's office giving a few

thoughts on the funding of the Russia report.

And making a pretty clear statement that he doesn't believe it's appropriate for him

to speak further on the topic, including in congressional testimony.

So this is either the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning or the beginning

of the beginning of the end.

I think we've sort of lost track at this point, but here to unpack all of this with me,

have the studio Quinted Jurassic and Paul Rosenstein and Ben Wittis and David Chris are on the

line joining us remotely as well.

So before we start with questions, Mueller's press conference was only lasted about 10

minutes.
