We've got a great show for you today as we are continuing our series on student success stories from here within the Speaker Lab. Now, today we're going to be talking about speaking as a side hustle, which is awesome, because I know that many of you listening are either considering

it or you're already doing it. And so today we're going to be talking with Ryan Gottfretton.

He's the perfect person to join me for this conversation because not only is Ryan a full-time

professor at Cal State Fullerton, but on the side, he's been consulting and speaking for the last

several years. Now, one of the things I really like about Ryan is that he has really defined the rules of the game for his speaking business and what it is that he wants to accomplish. And so in our conversation, you're going to hear him talk about his schedule, his travel, his wallet, and how all of these things factor into which gigs he passes on and which gigs he books. Now, even though we refer to this as a side hustle, I want you to notice how Ryan says that as momentum has grown in his business through following the Speakelab plan, it doesn't really feel like hustling anymore. are you speaking about how does speaking fit into your world today yeah I think it's

probably important to understand that I'm a leadership professor at Cal State

Fullerton and so I focus on the leadership space in terms of my research and

then of course I do some teaching there but then my speaking is kind of my side
