Summary

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God,[a] we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice[b] cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants[c] for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

0:07.4	truth of God. Are you ready? Let's take a deep breath. Let's just take a few
0:12.0	seconds to push away everything that's crowding in on our
0:15.2	minds, the stresses, responsibilities, situations that we're facing, not so that we can go into some intangible, um kind of a state, but so that we can
0:27.9	clear out room for the Holy Spirit of God to speak to us through his word so that we can have our minds
0:36.7	refashioned refocused into the image of his because that's what we need as followers of Jesus Christ.
0:44.1	That's how we're going to show up in the world and make any kind of difference today.

0:51.4	I wanted to read to you a little bit from 2nd
0:53.5	Corinthians chapter 4. And yesterday we talked about what it means to be
0:58.8	sufficient because of what Jesus does in our lives through his Holy Spirit and how we show up in the world as a
1:06.4	source of light and wisdom and guidance and stability.
1:11.7	And Paul continues speaking along that line in 2nd
1:16.8	Corinthians chapter 4 by saying this in verse number one.
1:21.4	He says therefore having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart, but we have
1:29.5	renounced disgraceful underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to
1:36.5	tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
