The Bert Show. Does anybody really get eight hours asleep? It always ticks me off when I'm reading things that say, you really need eight hours of sleep, right? I don't know anybody. I don't know anybody that gets eight hours asleep. Some of us get five and a half. Some of us get six, but there's no one that gets eight. Jackson is struggling with this right now. Big time. Yeah. You know, at the start of this year, I kind of started on a bit of a

health and fitness journey, and I've been really proud of myself. I've been being really consistent

0:26.8

and working out five days a week. I've been tracking what I've been eating a little bit better.

0:31.1

How's the marathon training go? Marathon training's going, well, half marathon. Half marathon. And I actually signed up for a 10-mileer that's happening in a few months.

0:40.0

Like I've been just doing what I feel like are all the right steps up into this point.

0:45.4

But part of, you know, your recovery and all this stuff and people don't as being so important is your sleep, right?

0:52.5

And so I have a fitness tracker that's conveniently a ring that I wear every day,

0:57.1

and it stays charged for a few days, and I wear it when I go to sleep.

1:00.1

And the biggest reason why I've been wearing this has been to track my sleep

1:03.1

to see what I'm really getting at night.

1:04.8

Because sometimes you're in bed for a certain amount of time,

1:07.0

but that's not necessarily the amount that you're actually sleeping, right? And let me tell you,

1:11.2

the results have been absolutely shocking over the last like two months that I've been wearing this.

1:17.5

So let me just read what the last like, you know, a little bit of sleep that I've been getting.

1:21.7

Four hours and four minutes, five hours and five minutes, four hours 18, four hours 50, five hours seven,

1:26.2

five twenty three hours seven, five hours seven, four thirty 18, four hours 50, five hours seven, five 23, four 29, five 26,

1:28.6

three hours seven, five hours flat, four 34, four eleven. So you just can't fall asleep, so you will

1:34.8

lay in bed and is your, what they're calling like sleep hygiene. Is that good? A lot of that, so it's two

1:41.1

things. One is how long it takes me to get to sleep. Some nights, I'm really tired and I'm able to fall asleep pretty early.

1:46.9

But sometimes I do have this weird like sleep delay where it takes me like two hours for me to fall asleep.

1:52.7

And then on the nights, even on the nights where it takes me a while or I can fall asleep early, I'm waking a lot up a lot in the middle of the night, like, you know, two, three times,

2:01.2

and it's taking me a while to fall back asleep in those times, too.
