| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Chris Terrell podcast. |
| 0:12.2 | My name is Chris Terrell. |
| 0:14.0 | And if you're new here, I've lost 125 pounds myself after an entire adulthood of constant yo-yo dieting, up down, |
| 0:23.6 | up down, got my act together, decided to make some meaningful lasting changes and started |
| 0:29.6 | dealing with why I gained the weight in the first place. |
| 0:33.6 | And I also started making actual changes to my actual lifestyle that I was willing to commit to forever. |
| 0:44.3 | Actual change is designed to improve my body, to improve my mind, to improve my relationship with myself. |
| 1:00.6 | And more importantly, to help me keep the weight off that I'm working, I had worked so hard to get off. |
| 1:02.7 | To get off of my body. |
| 1:05.2 | I didn't want to gain it back. |
| 1:06.9 | Do you? |
| 1:08.0 | No, of course not. |
| 1:09.2 | I know you don't want to gain it back anymore than I do. |
| 1:13.7 | But when I set out to lose weight this time, the last time, I had to have some honest conversations with myself. |
| 1:26.2 | There's one conversation in particular that I want to talk about. |
| 1:29.6 | I want to tell you a little bit about. |
| 1:33.1 | It was the conversation where I had to recognize and acknowledge that I don't know what I'm |
| 1:41.9 | talking about. |
| 1:44.0 | That I don't know what I'm doing. You know, if somebody was around me and they would have talked about losing weight, I would say, well, you know, I've done this, this, and this, and this. And in my own head, I'd walk around telling myself, I know how to lose weight. I've done it before. I could do this any time I wanted. Bullshit. That's what I was spouting. My mouth was |
| 2:02.8 | moving. It was all just a bunch of lies. I was trying to trick myself. I was trying to convince |
| 2:07.2 | myself in the past. I didn't want to acknowledge the reality, which is I didn't know what I was |
| 2:12.7 | doing. The reason why I hadn't lost weight and kept it off is because I didn't know how. |
