When you hear the term food desert I think you think of these you know vast

expanses of land where we're nothing's growing and that that's not really what

it means. We had Grant Weber back on the show. He was in the Air Force for 21

years to play six times to the Middle East and is now the farm manager at Vets on

the farm up in Washington so as I understand it Grant you guys have a bit of a

food desert situation going on up there yeah. Yeah yeah so one of our the way

we sell some of our veg is to we purchased a used refrigeration truck got

our all detailed out big dinners her name because in the military and in

farming too you got it you nickname every yeah name your truck so yeah yeah

so big dean and that's one of the we kind of came from one of the tomato varieties

we grow but it just fit her perfect so we like to go out to places and we set up

a like a pop-up farm stand for like an hour or two hours we accept EBT and

snap and all that stuff and just try to get the word out to these people you

know like you need to eat you're gonna pay for it you know nutritional

nutritional wise you're gonna pay for an hour later you know if you're gonna be

in the pharmacy but I mean just getting out there and doing awareness and we've

even done some cooking classes with the library around here we have a big

supporter and the Spokane library and she we did cooking classes show that it's

easy you just don't have to go buy the process or the canned stuff here you can

just grab this stuff and make spring rolls or whatever so that's one of our

big missions yeah yeah there's a woman near me lives in this old historic house

on the hill kind of like beautiful home and she has an autoimmune disorder so
