As we come into Thanksgiving, if we're still in the shutdown posture, it's going to be rough out there, really rough.

That's a warning from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Fox News today.

He says there will be major disruptions when the Federal Aviation Administration

cuts flights at 40 busy airports tomorrow, if no deal to end the shutdown is reached.

We were seeing increased pressure in these 40 markets, and we looked at the data.

This was data-driven, and so taking 10% of the flights out will reduce that pressure,

which is what we want to do. Even with the cuts, flights could still be delayed if there aren't

enough workers to control them safely. The air traffic controllers union leader says controllers are

resigning daily because of the shutdown. United Airlines tells CNN it's preemptively canceling about 200 flights starting

tomorrow, while Southwest Airlines says it's canceling around 100 flights, and American Airlines

says it's canceling around 220 flights. United, along with Delta and American Airlines, say they're

waiving fees for travelers who want to cancel or change their flights.

Apart from the travel chaos, a federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to fully cover food stamp benefits for tens of millions of Americans this month.

This comes after the administration said in a new court filing that it'll provide larger

partial benefits after updating its guidance to states.

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of a Trump administration passport policy that

transgender and non-binary Americans argue is unconstitutional. The rule requires sex

designations on passports to match the travelers assigned sex at birth. In an unsigned order,

the court said, quote,

the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment.

The court's liberal justices dissented.
