Summary

As Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, continues traveling through Southeast Asia, he ministers to a snake charming village. A place of abject poverty and brokenness, where little children play in conditions so unsanitary you would not allow your animals to step. The snake charmers believe that the snakes are gods, which provide their only source of meager income. But by the grace of the true and living God, a ministry known as Gospel for Asia is providing the very basics of life to these broken people—fresh water, sanitation, education, and the demonstration of the love of Jesus. We are called to labor not for that which perishes but for that which is eternal. In our Going Global Mission, CRI is seeking to do globally the very things we have done in North America—teaching people how to read the Bible for all its substantial worth, and how to mine, meditate on, and memorize the Scriptures, not just for the purpose of gaining knowledge, but rather for the purpose of experiencing life that is life to the full. Life that only Jesus Christ can bring—even in the most meager and broken circumstances.

0:21.6	I'm traveling in Southeast Asia as I'm speaking and just yesterday I did something that I thought I would never, ever do.
0:35.6	And that is I went to a snake charming village.
0:41.3	Now when you think about charming,
0:44.3	there's a certain mystical ring to that.
0:48.3	But when you're actually in one of those villages,
0:53.3	what you see is brokenness and poverty.
0:59.0	Little children, literally playing in unsanitized conditions, in conditions that you could not imagine
1:14.6	putting an animal into.
1:16.6	They are living in the most extreme
1:23.6	of poverty.
1:26.6	Their circumstances are beyond belief you of poverty.
1:31.4	Their circumstances are beyond belief you you immediately think of the words of our Lord Jesus Christ
1:37.5	when you are walking through this snake charming village.
1:43.6	The words, the words,
1:46.4	the least of these immediately spring to mind.
1:54.4	These snake charmers, in essence, are people who believe that the snakes are like gods and is the snakes that
2:09.6	bring at least some income into the village they're used to raise money and that money that is raised is meager indeed.
2:26.3	But as you walk through the village, you see the need for sanitation, for fresh water, for education, for hope, and for a future.
2:40.8	And you have the opportunity to then speak and demonstrate in tangible ways the love of Jesus Christ.
2:53.6	And I'm so thankful for ministries like Gospel for Asia
2:57.6	that are providing the very basics of life.
