Episode 62 with Skye Rapson
"Families are often like, 'Oh, that’s normal. That’s just a family trait.' But maybe that family trait is actually ADHD."
Skye lives is Auckland, NZ, where she is an ADHD coach and the founder of Unconventional Organisation, a growing network of coaches who provide individual and group coaching for adults with ADHD or executive function challenges.
Skye is also an academic with over seven years of experience working in adult education. She has studied in various fields, including Psychology, Sociology, and Public Health, and is now a Doctoral Candidate in Population Health.
Skye was diagnosed with ADHD at the start of her doctorate. Since then, she has dedicated time to researching and disseminating ADHD studies, focusing on supporting others with strengths-based, neurodiverse-friendly tools and systems.
We talk about navigating academia and graduate work and some of those executive functioning challenges around research and learning, and Skye gets to the heart of what exactly ADHD coaching entails, as well as how to know if a) you need ADHD coaching; and b) how to know if it’s working.
