Today's 10-minute walk is helping you create a walking habit you will love.

This comment, while walking this morning, I stepped on a rock and fell on my left knee,

scraping it. My right knee is damaged, torn meniscus, from a fall approximately two years ago it amazes me

Today, I want to talk about building situational awareness while we are walking.

Falling is a potential danger when you're out walking.

And statistically, as we get older, that danger, the risk increases.

But it's not simply limited to people who are older, younger people fall and find themselves injured.

I remember at the radio station where I work I now work remotely.

There was a younger woman, I'm guessing she was in her 30s.

She was walking down the steps from the second floor to the first floor.

And I don't know precisely what happened, but she slipped, tripped, and fell down. I don't think she was seriously

injured, but she did injure, I think it was her ankle, and so she was on crutches for a little bit.

So it's not just older people, we all, can run the risk of falling while we are walking.

And one of the things that can help this is building better situational awareness while we are walking.
