Hi, my name is John Kim and I'm a therapist who went through his own

rebirth. I share my feelings and revelations. I believe in casual or

on purpose series on my podcast based on my brand new book a single on purpose and just a reminder.

This is not a anti-relationship book. This is not a called single forever. This is a

pro-relationship with yourself book and this book is based off of not only my stories and love lessons, revelations, but it's also based

off of clients I've helped in the last decade or so and mostly women who have been frustrated with

singlehood who have internalized for themselves that being single means that they are less than or defective, you know?

And add to that our toxic swipe culture and how we meet people, DickPicks, and false advertising, and all of that.

So I want to start with this quote.

Sometimes you have to stand alone to prove to others and yourself that you could still stand.

And I chose that quote to start the book because I really believe that you proving to yourself that you can't

stand alone you proving to yourself that being with someone is not needed but

rather a choice is, I mean it's it's the first step to feeling empowered.

You know, I think a lot of us,

and I know for myself, because I've been single many times in my life,

when we're single, it's like this ticking clock goes off

and we are putting ourselves out there trying to find someone as fast as we can, right?

And instead of that, if we can use our time that we're single to actually prove to ourselves as well as others that we don't need anyone else.

Now it doesn't mean that you don't want to be with anyone right it just means that you are building your

own life and if someone comes around that is worth the investment sure sure you can invest in that but it's not you chasing and
