that this week my wonderful friend Joel Hawkins is with me on this episode. Samantha is engaged in a

lot of activities that she's taking care of with her family this week and because Joel and I have

such a history with the subject of today's podcast that I thought it would be really nice if he and I

worked on this together. So sit back and join us for the next hour or so as we talk about once again

Granny Jean the Palm Reader. But this time we have to tell you an amazing synchwits of events that

occurred over the past years but particularly as she was dying and then after she died. If I

didn't believe in synchronicity before I have to say I do now. So Joel welcome dear. Deb thank you

and thanks for having me it's an honor to be here especially on a discussion about Jean. Yes folks

Joel and I met Jean in the same week in 1971 I met Joel and Jean in the same week in 1971

and the three of us have been friends and have ventured down this metaphysical path together

in so many ways. Joel can you tell that? It's been a long trip Deb and it's not over and that's

the cool thing isn't it? And story actually begins before we met on September 17 Sunday September

17 1967 a man named Suntal Succa Rital I'm not sure I'm saying his name close to correctly. Published

a poem in the Bangkok post entitled The Kiff of Infinity and in August of 1970 Shirley McLean

published a book entitled Don't Fall Off the Mountain and that poem The Kiff of Infinity was

published in the Preface of Shirley's book and bear with us here is this thread winds and twist

more than 40 years in the last chapters of the book Shirley explains how she was caught up

in a coup in the nation of Bhutan and if you don't know where Bhutan is I bet you you're not alone

it's up between India and China and it's a lovely country but it's up in the Himalayas and sometime

after that book was published Jean read it and she fell in love with the book as we both did

but she really fell in love with the poem at the beginning of the book and at some point shortly
