Emily and Jennifer, thank you so much for both being on my podcast. I cannot wait to dive into so many

different topics with you guys. I think this episode's going to be so much fun. I also,

I haven't had two people on at once in a while. So I feel like this is going to be really fun.

You know what? I feel like everyone gets very nervous when they have both of us on because it's like, well, who talks it once? And I'm like, no, no, we do this literally all the time. So we're very good at it. But my name is Emily Beirley. I'm a licensed

marriage and family therapist and a sex therapist and Jennifer and I are co-hosts of the

String Chains Podcast. And we own a wonderful organization called the Therapy Group. We have about 45

different clinicians in

different states. And basically what we're all about is down to earth therapy. So one of the

things that happened for us, you'd go into me with these therapists and then they'd use a bunch

of psychobabble bullshit that we didn't actually know what they were talking about. Or we felt

very judged or like, I didn't get this person. They didn't understand me. And now I think the world of therapy has clearly changed a ton over the last

15 years, which is so incredible. We love every single part of it. I love that you can go on TikTok

and see a therapist dancing talking about some great things to do. I want anything that is

accessible mental health is what we believe in.

I love that so much. And that's, I like that you brought up that point because I could picture

the exact TikTok they're talking about when they like do that. It's like, we'll do like a pregnancy

announcement to it and like update. But I love that so much because it is such a great way to get

the tools to people that actually need it. And it's like playing on their turf.

Now, I'm really, really intrigued how you guys, was the idea completely because you wanted to

basically feel or help people find people that understood them? Like, that's how it all originated

and it became this today. Yeah. So we met in grad school.

And we were being taught by a lot of older white men.
