It's pretty easy to be kind and nice to your spouse when they're being nice to you,

but what about the times when they're a little short or they cut you off or they're just really not kind?

What are you going to do about that?

And Greg, we've talked about grace in the prior episode and previously, of course, throughout the years.

Grace gets tossed about in Christian circles.

What's a good working understanding of what grace is, especially in a marriage?

Yeah, well, I can first of all tell you what it's not.

So it's not based on performance.

So, oh, if my spouse does this, okay, then I'll give them grace.

So it's not based on performance.

And it's not condoning or almost like a license to overlook poor behavior or sinful behavior.

So just because I might give, you know, Aaron grace in an area if I'm doing that at the cost of just condoning whatever,

maybe a sinful behavior, poor behavior, harmful behavior, that's not grace.

That has nothing to do with grace.

I think grace, first and

foremost, it's that understanding of what God has done for us, sending his son, sacrificing his

son for us so that we have an opportunity as we give our life based on what Jesus did, as we become

Christ's followers, then we get to spend eternity

with God. But understanding that was this just free gift. We didn't deserve that. So I think

grace begins by this idea. There's just this unmerited, undeserved free thing that we give out

to someone because of what God did for us. It's not because,
