Summary

Every week on https://www.patreon.com/TheCineFiles, John and Steve release brief (and sometimes not so brief) conversations that we call "Cine-Files Shorts". Most of the topics are chosen by the patrons themselves and they have covered everything from movies and TV, actors, directors and fans to food, sports, travel, and philosophy. We have some great conversations lately and thought we'd release four of our favorites so you can hear a sample of what's available on Patreon.

Don’t forget to support The Cine-Files at https://www.patreon.com/TheCineFiles and purchase any film we feature at https://www.cine-files.net

Hi, everyone. As most of you know, in addition to the regular show, John and I record what we call

0:05.6

cinephile shorts every week for our supporters on Patreon, and we wanted to give you a small sample

0:11.4

of the great conversations we've been having lately. One patron asked John and I what kind

0:16.5

of people we were in high school and what were some of the most important experiences of our

0:20.7

formative years. We discussed Martin Scorsese's criticism of streaming video on how those services

0:26.6

are weakening the importance and visibility of what he calls true cinema. Another patron was

0:32.9

interested in the topic of student films and our experiences with student filmmakers. Finally,

0:38.6

we have a very challenging and complicated conversation about a very challenging and complicated topic.

0:44.3

The issue we discussed was the controversial film Cuties and the portrayal of underage sexuality

0:50.4

in TV and film. Now this was a tough one and John and I often struggled to find the right way to

0:56.0

express ourselves, but the fact is topics like that shouldn't be easy, but having the conversation

1:02.6

is important and I think we had a really good one. So we hope you enjoy the small sample of our

1:08.2

cinephile shorts and if you want to hear more, all you have to do is support the show on patreon.com

1:13.5

slash the cinephiles that cina-files with an f where you can also suggest topics for our shorts,

1:19.9

get advanced notice of upcoming movies, have access to combine versions of our multi-part episodes,

1:25.6

the combined godfather too is almost seven hours long and you can even guarantee that one of your

1:31.2

favorite films will appear on an upcoming episode of the cinephiles. All that and more at patreon.com

slash the cinephiles. But for now, we hope you enjoyed this compilation of some of our favorite

1:42.8

shorts and we'll be back next week with another great film on the cinephiles.

Hello cinephiles and welcome to another edition of cinephiles shorts. I am here with my trusty

2:01.4

partner, John Roca. Hello and this suggestion comes from Luke Leeson, who Luke Leeson is the guy

2:09.8

who's been helping us out with social media for it's been a year now. Yeah, he's been doing it,
