What's up, STS Nation, and welcome to the third episode of Surviving the Survivor, the podcast that promises to bring you the very best guest in all of true

crime, not the third episode ever, but the third today, just so everyone is clear on that.

And we are diving back into a story that I am really intrigued by.

And this, of course, is the story of Sheriff Mickey Steins in Lecher County, Kentucky.

And he on camera shot and killed Judge Kevin Mullins, who he was once a bailiff for.

Now he's still an accused killer and alleged killer.

He has not been convicted in court, but it is unique because you see him

firing eight shots into the judge. And the question still remains, but we're starting to get,

going in the blank a little bit, but the big question was why. These guys were friends. What

happened at first over speculation, maybe the sheriff's daughter,

who was a minor, was involved. That seems to not be the case. And then we hear about deputy

Ben Fields, who ended up being convicted for essaying women in the judge's chamber and things started to

take a definitely a bizarre turn and uh now we have um and elizabeth jones who by the way the host of

hillbilly crime one of our three best guests uh she has had the deposition from Sheriff Mickey Steins for

a little bit of time and has had it on her channel, including the reading of it, and it's long.

It's like a hundred and ninety-eight pages. And the COE is going to be loading in some graphics

for us that we're going to kind of go through to discuss this deposition.

The other two guests real quickly, John Tompkins, coming to us right now from the great

state of New Jersey, my home state, and he is a criminal defense attorney in Indianapolis,
