Hello and welcome to The Week Junior Show. I'm Bex and I'm joined by writers Eve and Joe from

0:07.2

the Week Junior, the magazine Making Sense of the World for 8 to 14-year-olds. Now, in a week where Beamish Museum

0:13.3

won the Museum of the Year award and of DR Congo, peace deal was agreed, we're going to be

0:18.4

discussing some of the other stories, events and people

0:20.8

that inspired the Week Junior team. Make sure you're listening closely because at the end of the

0:24.7

episode, we'll be asking a question about what you've heard, and if you answer it correctly,

0:28.9

you could win a prize. But first, Joe and Eve, there's something I want to talk to you about

0:33.3

because in this week's magazine, there's a story about a man whose secret talent is he can fart tunes

0:39.3

on command. And it got me thinking, what's your secret talent? Joe, do you have one? Just to say that

0:45.4

I actually saw that guy who fart tunes when I was on Scout Camp once, he performed. So, yeah, good

0:51.2

memories. Anyway, my special talent actually is remembering people's birthdays.

0:55.5

I'm really good at retaining dates, and I often only have to hear someone's birthday once,

1:00.5

and it's just stuck in my mind.

1:02.5

So it's kind of really useful for friends' birthdays and things like that.

1:06.0

That's so useful because I forget my friends' birthdays all the time,

1:09.0

and I have to kind of write them down and put them in my calendar. Eve, how about you? Mine is nowhere near as useful as Joes, but I am really

1:16.2

good at guessing which film a soundtrack comes from. So the kind of instrumental songs that play

1:22.4

in the background of films. If someone plays it to me, I can guess pretty quickly what film

1:26.3

it's from. And that might sound pretty useless, but me and my friend Gemma used to play guest the film soundtrack when we were younger, where she would just play soundtracks to me, and I would just guess them. It was one time where she played one, and it was, and she started playing it. And I said to her, is it from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone when they're playing chess? And she was like, oh my God, how did you know that? So, yeah, it's kind of a weird secret talent. Wow, that again, that's a fun one to have. And great for a quiz, I imagine, in general. That's awesome. Mine is much less impressive than both of yours. Mine is just, I'm very good at spotting loose change on the floor. Like, I can always spot, like, coins on the pavement, just kind of like chucked somewhere. I think I'm a bit of a magpie for them. So, yeah, that's my very mild superpower. It's just seeing loose change, which is in no way as useful as either of yours. But if listeners at home have a pretty cool secret

talent, we want to know what it is. You can send us an email. Go to hello at the week junior.

2:22.3

Or leave us a voice note at funkidslive.com slash the week junior. All you've got to do is grab

a grown-up, look for the big red button and record your voice. And if your voice note is played
