Summary

Aimee Raupp is a women's health and fertility expert, licensed acupuncturist, and bestselling author of Yes, You Can Get Pregnant and she is one of my all-time favorite guests to have on this show. Every time I talk to Aimee I leave feeling like I can take on the world, and this conversation was no different.

In a moment when one in six women worldwide are dealing with fertility challenges, a number that has only grown, having the right information in your corner is everything. Aimee's whole philosophy is about shifting the narrative: from infertility-focused to fertility-focused, and from doubt to belief in your body's innate power to heal and conceive. She covers everything from egg quality and hormones to the emotional and psychological components of fertility that most providers completely overlook.

This is the episode to send to anyone in their TTC journey who feels dismissed, overwhelmed, or like time is running out. Aimee is the breath of fresh air and the confidence boost we all need. Follow her, you will not regret it.

I'm so honored to have you on.

And I'm really excited to you for your new book.

0:20.4

Thank you. I cannot tell you enough. I don't know

0:23.8

if you see me every time I tag you, but anytime I do a Q&A and somebody says like,

0:27.4

do you know, any one to follow, I'm always like, just following. Just doing it. Because the

0:34.2

overarching theme, your through line is so positive.

0:40.1

It's just such a mind shift, which is one of your pillars, right?

0:45.8

And telling everybody how to get our asses back to being in, you know, a positive mental state.

0:53.7

So thank you for that because it really,

0:55.7

I think it just brings such levity to something that so many women are struggling with right now.

1:03.3

Yeah. Yeah. I think it's so important. I was in the clinic yesterday, which I only go in like once a

1:09.4

month now. And I had, she's a fellow acupuncturist, too. It's always, I always find the clinician so flattering

1:15.2

when they seek me out for like getting pregnant and they're, you know, she's in her mid-40s.

1:19.6

But she was spinning and I just said, well, what, you know, I reframed some of her thoughts.

1:26.5

It was something like afraid to get pregnant, but then also afraid to have a baby in the winter. And then am I getting too old? Like my FSA was really high, you know, all these things. And I just kind of gently reframed. She just kept saying, thank you for the reframe. Thank you for the reframe. And I was like, well, I always just think that, you know, even when they give us these stats of like, you know, all your eggs are bad, right?

1:47.3

And I was like, well, I always just think that, even when they give us these stats of like, you know, all your eggs are bad, right? And the unfounded stats, by the way. But when we look at the real data, we know, okay, women, yes, egg quality declines as we get older. There's, you know, more chromosomor abnormalities, but we're actually don't run out of eggs. Like that is such a big piece of misinformation. We decline our egg pool

2:02.8

each month, but we actually still don't run out of eggs. Like that is such a big piece of misinformation.

2:01.2

We decline our egg pool each month, but we actually still have like a thousand eggs left

2:05.6

even in menopause, FYI.

2:08.1

But women, even up until there was one big piece of research, and I talk about it a lot,

2:13.2

and it's in the book and all the things, but they look at 20,000 eggs, not embryos,
