0:53.0	She worked for the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA,
0:57.0	but the agency pretended like she didn't exist.
1:01.0	Even though she ran an FDA lab,
1:04.0	she was never allowed to be publicly associated with the agency.

1:22.0	and the FDA was afraid the public would reject work from a black scientist.
