One B first moved into the house, that was about 8 or 9 years old.

Had just entered, they're great.

We obviously didn't have a lot of furniture, like we did when we moved out.

So my sister and I placed a lot of our toys and games on the carpet, which at the time

seemed like an enormous amount of space.

There were a few things that didn't like about the house that we didn't experience in

the apartments where we used to live.

Things felt like they were moving around in the ceiling.

Now our house didn't have an attic, per se.

There was definitely space up there to put things, but there was only a bunch of insulation

and it didn't look like an attic, like the ones that they have in the movies.

When I told my dad about the noises, he thought they must have been rodents.

But it took him a while to actually call an exterminator to come and check it out.

He was out in the hallway when I heard my mom come out and ask him what he was doing.

And I remember his words, almost in a whisper.

There was something in the attic.

I get goosebumps just thinking about that night because that's what unlocked a lot of

the strange events at 245 Cardage Avenue.

There are two things that stand out to me about the time our family spent there.

Even though there were lots of other situations that still make my parents nervous to this day.

One of them is the story of the doll with the black string hair.

In one corner of the room, we had set a lot of our toys.
