Hello everybody and welcome back to the YouTube News podcast. My name is Benedict Townsend. It's wonderful to see you back here again or indeed to see you here for the first time. Honestly, this is one of my favorite things I do in the week. You know, I'm a busy guy. Obviously, I do YouTube news. The main show is a video version of YouTube news. Obviously, I volunteer at several different charities, and I also work at the zoo as a professional

friend to the animals. But among all those things I do, I'm also a hot air balloon repairman,

but apart from all those things I do, this has got to be, oh, top 20, top 20 things I do.

We've got a great show for you this week. We've got some actual YouTuber news. We've got a brand

new installment of rap, the story of a rat, which has been sorely missing from the show for a while. I've heard your cries, I've heard your demands, and I've brought it back. Plus, we have questions from the audience and so much more. It's going to be a great show, a cracking show, in fact. But before that, a little bit of admin. This week, I've been asked by the producers,

basically because it's been about a year that we've been doing the show, I'm required by law

to read out a list of all the banned listeners because it's like part of your legal rights

that you need to know if you've been banned. So I'm going to quickly just rifle through it.

This is the list of people who've been banned from the show.

Barry Lips, Leslie Snipes, the entire original cast of cats, Barty Crouch, Jr.

Shane Dawson, seems obvious.

The Dark Wizard Grindlewold, basically just because of like most of the stuff he's done.

He's a real rot to that bloke. Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen, All of the Wiggles, and your dad. That's all the people who have been banned. And with that, let's get on with the show. Yes, welcome back, everybody. My name is Benedict Townsend. You may know me from the intro to the show. You may know me from this. YouTube News, the podcast, the world's foremost, and I would argue only podcast that is about

YouTube or YouTubers. I challenge you. I defy you. Show me another podcast where people talk about

YouTube stuff. You won't be able to do it. No one else is doing it. We've got an absolute monopoly on that issue. And it's you, the listener who is passing go, and it is you the listener who's collecting 200 bucks. And what do I mean by bucks? I mean a great listening experience. And with that, let's roll into our first story. And this is about, we've already mentioned him once on this show, it's about Shane Dawson, who has reared his head again and has reappeared on the scene, kind of.

So Shane, as you know, has been very quiet on all social media and YouTube ever since he was

quite rightly dragged for loads of terrible things he did over the years. We don't have time

to go back over it now, but, you know, he got, I think, quite correctly called out for quite a lot of sustained behavior that he had

done over the years. Well, recently, he posted on his Instagram story, and it was a Instagram

memory. It was a picture of him and Jeffrey Starr with all their makeup. Remember when they did all that makeup?

And everyone was like, wow, they're doing makeup. And they did that long, boring series about them doing makeup. They ended with them selling the makeup and making loads of money. And at the end, we were all like, huh, that wasn't interesting. And they seemed to have just made a lot of money. It was almost like this was a kind of weird, boring business scam. Anyway, he shared this image and he wrote, quote,
