Throughout the morning, the three men worked at the trees, chopping and hacking logs for the town,

and the ink of twilight had begun to spread across the sky.

Before we journey back to town, the stranger said,

why should we all three not rest a while and sleep for it is far to walk and already our bones are weary from a day's work?

The grandfather and his grandson agreed and all three men curled up at the foot of an oak and closed their eyes.
