Hey, what's up everyone. Welcome back to the Epic Garden Podcast. Today we're going to be taking a question from my friend Joyce.

I'm on the second floor facing northwest. There are a couple inches of sun for a couple months,

May to mid-June, so that truly is a couple months,

is two or three, and it gets up to 110 plus at times for many long hours.

I want to grow anything, especially anything edible,

but I would take ornamental as well.

What could survive the heat without having sun, although it does get very, very

bright? Mid-October, the weather begins to cool, still there's no sun on my balcony.

Now, this is interesting because a lot of the times

we can give recommendations on shade loving plants

or potentially heat loving plants,

but shade and heat loving plants as a combination can be a difficult

Now the fact is a lot of shade loving plants are also moisture loving plants. We're thinking about things like ferns.

Anything in these moist woodland style conditions aren't going to thrive simply
