Hi friends, I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, and the miracles.

Each month here on Let's Read the Gospels we're reading all four books. So make sure you subscribe today. Join us as we read the Gospels.

Similarly, we read three chapters a day and get through all four books in 30 days. But this month we're actually reading the Gospels chronologically from the NIV, the new international version.

So we'll be reading the stories in the order they took place. So it mixes them together from all four books most days, which I think is really fun.

So I'll share the references with you here at the beginning. You can also find them in the show notes and they're in the Let's Read the Gospels guidebook and the reading plan.

So you can listen or read along in your own Bible and then I'll pray and that's it. Today is September 9th and I will be reading Matthew 11, 20 to 30, Luke 7, 36 to 50, Luke 8, 1 through 3, Mark 3, 20 to 30, Matthew 12, 22 to 45, Mark 3, 31 to 35, Matthew 12, 46 to 50, Luke 8, 19 to 21, Mark 4, 1 through 9.

Matthew 13, 1 through 9, Luke 8, 4 through 8, Mark 4, 10 through 20, Matthew 13, 10 to 23, and Luke 8, 9 to 15.

Judgment for the unbelievers from Matthew. Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles have been performed because they did not repent.

Woe to you, of course, and woe to you, Betheseda, for if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades.

For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.

At that time, Jesus said, I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children.

Yes, Father, for this is what you are pleased to do. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father.

And no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble and heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
