and here's what's driving the day. And that's my colleague Eugene Daniels' interview with Kamala Harris.

Eugene and some of his colleagues interviewed Kamala Harris at an event for the National Association

of Black Journalists in Philadelphia yesterday and here with me to talk about that interview

with Kamala Harris, my co-author, Eugene Daniels. Eugene, big day yesterday. Hello. Set the scene,

tell us the context how this thing got set up, how you got involved.

Just settle all up for us.

Yeah, yeah.

You know, NABJ does this every four years with the candidates.

We usually do it at the convention.

And Harris could not do it for all of these reasons.

Obviously, everyone remembers that Trump did do it at the actual convention.

And so they kept trying to figure how to make it up.

And NABJ wanted to make it work.

And so I got a call last week essentially being like, hey, you know, we are putting this together

and we want you to be a part of the kind of panel of moderators. And, you know, I've

covered her for a long time. I have interviewed her a bunch of times over the last few years.

But there's something different about interviewing the presidential candidate, 49 days, 50 days,

wherever we are before the election.

And so it was like this interesting kind of like pressure cooker that was created.

Did she signal it with like a change in tone as well?
