Right, thank you for having me on. Great to be with you and thank you for doing

a whole bunch of bio hooks and putting

senator last on the list if only more people understood that these public

offices are a way to serve but they're not the heart of our identities.

Dad and husband and even wrestler are more important things

than I think people act less like jack wagons.

Well, you don't have to be around you very long to know that you do not take yourself seriously even though your your current job is a very serious one. You have a different kind of humility than most folks in this line of work, but I do have to question you about one thing. You had the perfect job.

You were a college president and they liked you and you were doing great things and you gave it up why my wife says this like once a week

man she's a fan of yours and she she's not a huge podcast listener but when I told her I was doing this one

she said she'd probably download your podcast so I got a duck here a little bit but I kind of got

recruited into the Senate race in 2013-14 and you're right in a college president is a great job it's

a it's just a great place to raise kids too we went we went from 18 to 29 sports
