That's right, billion with a B. Paul started e-bates and he did it while he was driving

down Highway 5, came up with the idea and he walks us through the entire story of how

him and his co-founder started e-bates during the early internet web 1.0 and how they scaled

this to a company that was about to go public for $650 million and then went to Rakuten

and they gave them an offer for around the same and they said, no, we're just going to go

public instead and Rakuten said, okay, well, how about a billion?

And I love this story because it is a phenomenal and very high profile exit.

And this is details that I'd never heard of before.

I learned about this many years ago and researched it when it happened because it was such a large
